The Old Village International Golf Classic

The 17th Old Village International Golf Classic - Vila Sol - Algarve.

A total of 43 players played to win the several trophies that were available. The 'Ladies Owners Trophy' went to Heather Ward, the 'Men Owners Trophy' went to Wolfgang Knust, and the 'Guests Trophy' was won by Gerry Royanne.

Algarve Pro Castro Marim Classic - Castro Marim Course - 12th and 13th of March.

The combined strokes over the two day competition ended with the lead tied between the two Portuguese players, Tiago Cruz and Joao Ramos. In second place were also tied Welsh player Rhys Pugh. and Craig Hinton from England, two strokes behind the leaders.

Algarve Pro Tournament - Quinta de Cima Course - Tavira - 5th and 6th March.

Belgium golfer Hugues Joannes ended as the winner on the 6th with a combined two strokes below par. In equal second place was Englishman Sam Day and Frenchman Joel Staler, both with a combined par score.

WGC-Dell Match Play - Austin - Texas - USA - 23rd to 27th March.

The Australian golfer Jason Day won the WGC-Dell Match Play for his second time in three years with a 5 and 4 victory over South African Louis Oosthuizen in the final. McIlroy and Cabrera-Bello were into a nip-and-tuck battle in the consolation match before the Spaniard won the 14th, 15th and 16th for a 3 and 2 win. Overall, this was Jason Day's third win on the Tour and it moved him into 1st place in the World Rankings.

LPGA Founders Cup - Desert Ridge - Phoenix - Arizona - 17th to 20th March.

South Korean golfer Sei Young Kim gained the victory in Phoenix by five strokes from Lydia Ko from New Zealand. Lying in third place was Jacqui Concolino from the USA.

S.S.P. Chawrasia (India)

Indian Open - Delhi - New Delhi - India - 17th to 20th March.

Chawrasia won his third victory on the Tour in the Indian Open with a margin of two strokes from tied Jeunghun Wang from South Korea and Anirban Lahiri from India. Chawrasia moved to 244 place in the World Rankings and 20th in the Race to Dubai.

Sebastian Soderberg (Sweden)

Barclays Kenya Open - Karen - Nairobi - Kenya - 17th to 20th March.

Sebastian Soderberg gained his maiden win on the Challenge Tour in Kenya. His nearest rival was French golfer Romain Langasque (AM) three strokes behind. One further stroke back was Bernd Ritthammer from Germany. Soderberg moved to 416 in the World Rankings and 209 in the Race to Dubai.

Jung Min Lee (S. Korea)

World Ladies Championship - Olazabal Course - Mission Hills - China 10th to 13th March.

The first four places were taken by players from South Korea. Jung Min Lee won by only one stroke from her fellow compatriots Seung Hyun Lee, Bo Kyung Kim and Hans Sol Ji.

True Thailand Classic - Black Mountain - Hua Hin - Thailand - 10th to 13th March.

Scott Hend gained his second Tour win when he finished one stroke less than home grown Piya Swangarunporn. In third place was Thomas Pieters from Belgium one stroke further back. Hend moved to 79th position in the World Rankings and 14th in the Race to Dubai.

Ha Na Jang - HSBC Women's Champions - Sentosa - Singapore - 3rd to 6th March.

The young South Korean golfer Ha Na Jang gained her win by four strokes over Pornanaong Phatlum from Thailand. In third place was fellow South Korean Amy Jang.

Jiyai Shin - Ladies Masters - Royal Pines - Canberra - Australia - 25th to 28th February.

Korean golfer Jiyai Shin gained a three stroke victory over her nearest rival, Holly Clyburn from England. Danish player Nicole Broch Larsen and Swedish Camilla Lennarth gained third places just one stroke more.

Louis Oosthuizen

Louis Oosthuizen - Perth International - Lake Karrinyup - Perth - Australia - 25th to 28th February.

South African golfer Louis Oosthuizen brought his total of Tour wins up to eight beating Alexander Levy from France by the one stroke. Australian Jason Scrivener was just one stroke further back from Levy. Oosthuizen moved to 19 place in the World Rankings and is 8th in the Race to Duba

Lexi Thompson - LPGA Thailand - Chonburi - Thailand - 25th to 28th February.

American golfer Lexi Thompson won with six strokes the LPGA Thailand Trophy from her rival In Gee Chun from South Korea. This brings Lexi Thompson's total of major wins up to seven in her career.
