Fri, 1st Dec 2017 World Golf Awards 2017. For the fourth year running the Algarve as a Golf Destination as been awarded the distinction of being Europe’s best. It is reported that the number of golf rounds played in 2017 increased by 10.5% on the previous year. |
Vila Sol Interclub Algarve 2017 Sun, 10th Dec 2017 Interclub Algarve - Vila Sol - Vilamoura - Algarve -28th November, 2017. A total of 18 Algarve Golf Clubs participated in the annual Finals Day of the Interclub Algarve. Top prize was taken by the Alto Club team from Alvor, followed by Levante Club and third by Vilamoura Club. |
European Tour - Shubhankar Sharma
Sun, 24th Dec 2017 Joburg Open - Randpark - Johannesburg - South Africa - 7th to 10th December, 2017. Indonesian golfer Shubhankar Sharma gained his maiden Tour win in South Africa. Three strokes behind was Erok Van Rooyan from South Africa, and four stokes further back in third place was another South African, Shaun Norris. Shubhanker Sharma moved to 205 in the World Rankings and 2nd position in the Race to Dubai. |
European Tour - Dylan Frittelli
Sun, 24th Dec 2017 Mauritius Open - Heritage - Domaine - de Bel -Ombre - Mauritius - 30th to 3rd December, 2017. South African golfer Dylan Frittelli won his second Tour event in a tie-off against Indonesian Arjun Atwel. In second place was Romain Langasque from France, with another South African placed third, Lois de Jager. Dylan Frittelli moved to 54 position the World Rankings and 3rd in the Race to Dubai. |
European Tour - Cameron Smith
Sun, 24th Dec 2017 Australian PGA Championship - Royal Pines - Gold Coast - Queensland - Australia - 30th to 3rd December, 2017. Cameron Smith from Australia gained his maiden Tour victory in Queensland after a tied-off battle with fellow Australian Jordan Zunic. One stroke further back was another Australian Adam Bland. This win moved Cameron Smith to 62nd position in the World Rankings and 4th in the Race to Dubai. |
European Tour - Wade Ormsby
Sun, 24th Dec 2017 Hong Kong Open - Fanling - Honk Kong - 23rd to 26th November, 2017. Australian golfer Wade Ormsby won his maiden Tour title in Hong Kong by one stroke. In tied second place were Alexander Bjorn from Sweden, Rafa Cabrera Bello from Spain, with both Paul Peterson and Julian Suri from the USA. Wade Ormsby moved to 101 position in the World Rankings and also took 1st place in the new Race to Dubai. |
