David James took top prize and he and Simon Brown, Jose Manuel Carrities, Robert Thompson, Hendrik Buhrmann and Phil Jones claimed their full cards to participate in the European Senior Tour 2013. |
Fri, 1st Feb 2013 Louis Oosthuizen - (South Africa) Volvo Golf Championship South Africa - 10th to 13th January, 2013 The victory by Louis Oosthuizen of this Championship brought his total Tour wins in his career to six and position number 4 in the World Golf Rankings. His final round ended up with a one stroke win over Scott Jameson and two strokes over Thongchai Jadee His five shot final round winning comeback is the largest in the history of the Volvo Golf Champions. He became the second consecutive South African to win the Volvo Golf Champions, following Branden Grace in 2012. |
Fri, 1st Feb 2013 Jamie Donaldson - (Wales) Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship United Arab Emirates - 17th to 20th January, 2013 Magnificent drives and some initial good putting helped him home for this win after his three putted the last hole to score a bogey. The end result for Jamie Donaldson was his victory by one stroke over Justin Rose and Thorbjorn Olesen. The win placed within the top 30 players in the World Golf Ranking and 2nd victory in the Tour after 268 attempts. He was also the first Welshman to win this Abu Dhabi Championship and equally his sixth win in his professional career. |
Fri, 1st Feb 2013 Chris Wood - (England) Commercial Bank Qatar Championship Qatar - 23rd to 26th January, 2013 After 116 European Tour events English golfer Chris Wood won his first European Tour victory with a one stroke difference from George Coetzee and Sergio Garcia. Chris ended the final day and final hole with a booming drive and a clean putt awarded him a well deserved eagle! This was the third time he has led going into the final round and this was to be the first one where he did not falter. The win moved him into the top 60 in the World Golf Ranking with only two victories since turning professional. |
