Sun, 1st Jan 2012 Alvaro Quiros - (Spain) Dubai World Championship Jumeirah - Dubai - United Arab Emirates - 8th to 11th December, 2011 Alvaro Quiros won the Dubai World Championship presented by DP World over the Earth Course at Jumeirah Golf Estates. This completed the Spaniard's 'clean-sweep' of this year's Dubai tournaments having won the Dubai Desert Classic earlier in the year. Quiros holed a monster eagle putt on the final green to finish two shots clear of Scotland's Paul Lawrie. The win took Quiros to World number 21 and a jump of 31 places. This win also secures his place in next year's Masters Tournament. This placed him in 90th place in the Race to Dubai. |
