The 18 hole championship Vale do Lobo Royal Golf Course is a sister to the Ocean Course. This course has combined several existing holes from the original Vale do Lobo Course and introduced some special interesting new holes. The layout of the course is skillful planned with a mixture of challenges slowly building up to a finally one on the eighteenth.

The famous Par 3 seventh hole from the old days is now the spectacular sixteenth on this new course. The closing eighteenth is a tricky hole on which to finish, with its narrow fairway and a deceptive green.

Played Royal & Ocean back to back in consecutive days. Enjoyable experience overall but the greens were possibly the worst I’ve seen them. Scraggy and bumpy. We tee’d off at 9am and both the fairway and rough was sodden. Rough extremely difficult to play from.

A very nice course in good condition though the second time we played it the greens had just been spiked. On some holes buggies not allowed on any part of the fairway which is inconvenient.
