Alto slipping down the list

Alto is always a popular course being so near Alvor and Portimao. It can get very busy and the new apartments being built right in the middle of the back nine will probably make it even busier. I felt that the building site spoils the overall ambiance of the course andcwhen finished it will detract from the enjoyment of playing Alto.

A really great course - quite a challenge with long par 4’s and the rolling terrain. I would say the greens were fast pace but soft leading to a lot of unrepaired pitch holes. I sorted 3 or 4 before each putt. Not the fault of the course. One thing that we did find that the rate of play was quite slow being held up at most holes after the 7th, again not too much of a drama but there wasn’t enough buggies for hire and a lot of groups had pull trolleys which maybe contributed to the slow play. The clubhouse is excellent and service was great. The rentals are the best - new qu10’s….going to struggle going back to my m6 now. I will play the course again next year though as one of the best in the area and a nice contrast to my home course which is a links.

Nice course, pretty difficult with tight fairways and elevated greens and some blind shots, had to wait on every tee for around 5-7 mins which was pretty annoying, one of slowest rounds of golf I’ve been on.

Abwechslungsreicher Platz in der Nähe von Alvor mit vielen nicht ganz leichten Löchern. Die ganze Familie - jung wie alt - spielen den Platz sehr gerne.
