Penina Resort Description

The 9 hole Penina Resort Course was constructed as an independent golf course located across the road from the Hotel Penina. It was previously known as the North Course and was conceived by the late Sir Henry Cotton. The length of the golf course is 1,851 meters and it is just right for the beginner with easy to play holes and one or two interesting features. The course has plenty of bunkers and water hazards to challenge the average golfer.

An inviting lake on the Par 3 third invites beginners to go for the green with the obvious risk of falling short into the water. The fifth hole of a Par 5 of 499 metres has a generous straight fairway, long and wide, ending with the elevated green typical to the Penina golf courses.

We have played Penina Resort course many times over the years. It is a fun 9-hole course and good value for a high handicap. The course was very waterlogged this time but so was the entire region after weeks of heavy rain. Even so the greens need work.

Scruffy course but you get what you pay for.

The resort course could do with some TLC. It's as if it has been forgotten by the green staff. Although the greens were ok little things like the tees, filling the ball cleaners are not being attended to.

Easy to loose balls but great for learning golf .

Good course to get back into playing golf. Nice long holes but very very easy to loose your ball, even on the fairways as many leaves . Also about 4/5 holes the greens were closed and makeshift holes have been made in front of the holes.

Thought Iâ€™d do a quick 9 holes which wasnâ€™t cheap at Â£24. It had three temporary greens and it was in very poor condition and not very scenic. Iâ€™ll make a slight exception due the rain weâ€™ve had recently, but still, I wonâ€™t be rushing to play it again.
