Santo Antonio Description

The Santo Antonio Course was originally named the Parque da Floresta Golf Course and is located at Budens which is beyond Lagos in the western Algarve. The architect has created a fascinating and challenging course which unique in its style in the Algarve. There is a tendency for golfers to return for another round in an attempt to master the more demanding holes.

The holes present varied attractive views of the surrounding countryside which are sometimes lined on the horizon by the distant sea. The fairways that roll up and down through the hills often demand very good placing and very accurate shots. Golfers may find the topographical nature of the fairways are as much of a playing challenge as the actual layout of the course.

An interesting course but despite using a buggy there was a great deal of walking on steep slopes. I fully understand why buggies were kept off the fairways since there had been heavy rain for three days. Last year we used the buggies on the fairways and it was much more enjoyable.

Front 9 is tricky and very undulating and unlike any other courses on the Algarve !! Back 9 is a really good layout and more traditional style. Great fun holiday golf.

Beautiful course, back nine is better than front nine, good test of golf, many fairways have big slopes,tees could do levelling, but overall lovely course, and very reasonable price
