San Lorenzo Description

San Lorenzo Golf Course in located in the Quinta do Lago Resort and enjoys a reputation for the excellent condition of its fairways and its attractive views around a lake formed by the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve. It was many years ago ranked as the second best course to play in Europe.

The outward first five holes are through the pine tree forest. Water and good hole layouts provides the hazards that play a big part in players having to select the right club and hit with care. The eighteenth is a tricky Par-4 mainly involving a lake that is just waiting for the inaccurate shot.

The location of the course, its design and great difficulty make it exciting to play. The disadvantage that the clubhouse is not available, it takes away some of its services to the player. The buggy paths are not very well maintained. And the buggies have very old technology.

Great course design but has left to deteriorate by the current owners. No clubhouse due to fire. Although iconic (especially the front 9), it really was not worth the green fee. The tee boxes are in very poor condition, and the cart paths are pretty much not fit for purpose.

Interesting Design, some spectacular holes on the front nines. Cart path often a mess… no clubhouse is inconvenient. Staff is very friendly, oncourse catering is ok

Again another great course in top condition ,the club gave us a lunch bag in compensation to having no clubhouse due to a fire ,very nice day .
