Very enjoyable round and playable despite recent rain. Some pin positions questionable especially on 14 but makes it a challenge. Friendly staff.

Added a round at Ombria to our Algarve golf itinerary based on an interaction at the QDL driving range with a fellow from London. It was an interesting change from the Golden Triangle courses as we headed inland to the hills. An interesting layout with some very good holes and some amazing views from some extremely elevated tees! We teed off #10 and played the back nine first, which is the more benign of the two nines. The front nine is more interesting (has the elevated tees) but can be a little ‘tight’ as the holes are squeezed into the valley along and beside the meandering water features. Conditions were average and a little inconsistent; but it is December. All in all, we enjoyed the course, but it is a little different.

Course challenging, interesting and in great condition. Greens undulating and need to be in the right place on them if you want to attack the flag. Clubhouse a little souless.
