Pedro Figueiredo won on the final day with a play-off from Englishman Jamie Abbott. In third place was Paul Lawrie from Scotland.

Open de Portugal

As the last day of the “Open de Portugal” Golf Tournament commences this morning Matt Wallace from England led the field being 17 strokes under par. Germany’s Sebastian Heisele lay second with 14 under par. In third place was England’s Sam Walker with 13 under par. Matthieu Pavon from France had 12 strokes under par and Tapio Pulkkanen from Finland had 11 strokes. Following this group were eight other golfers with 10 strokes under par.

The European Tour is holding their tournament the 'Open de Portugal' on the Morgado Golf Course. Starting on the 11th of May and terminating on the 14th of May.

The Tourist Complex of Vale do Lobo are holding their 35th Foursomes Week. It will commence on the 14th and run to the 20th of May. This popular event is usually over-subscribed months in advance.

Easter Golf Festival - Santo Antonio Course

Between the 14th and 17th of April the Santo Antonio Golf Course held their Easter Festival. It was a combination of events that included Texas Scramble, Pairs Better Ball, and Dubai and Am Am competitions. Their next Festival lasting a week will be in the Autumn running from the 22nd to the 27th of September.

Old Village Golf Classic

For the 18th time the “Old Village Golf Classic” was held on the Vila Sol course near to Vilamoura. There were 45 participants and the winner was Pam Forster for the Ladies and Jim Finn for the Men.

European Tour - Alvaro Quiros

Rocco Forte Open - Vendura - Sicily - Italy - 18th to 21st April, 2017

Spanish golfer Alvaro Quiros gained the win in Sicily against South African Zander Lombard on the second hole in a tie-off. In third place with only one stroke more was Haotong Li from China. With this victory Alvaro Quiros moved into 237th place in the World Rankings and 67th in the Race to Dubai.

European Tour - Matt Wallace

Open de Portugal - Morgado - Portimao - Portugal - 11th to 14th May, 2017.

Englishman Matt Wallace gained his combined maiden European Tour and Challenge Tour win on the Morgado course in the Algarve. On the final day he increased his lead to finish 5 strokes less than his nearest rival Julian Suri from the USA. In third place was Matthieu Pavon from France with two strokes more than Suri. Matt Wallace moved to 137th place in the World Rankings and 11th in the Race to Dubai.

European Tour - Alexander Levy

China Open - Topwin - Beijing - China - 27th to 30th April, 2017.

Frenchman Alexander Levy added another Tour win to make four when he won the China Open. It was a play-off between himself and Dylan Frittelli from South Africa. One stroke further back was Pablo Larrazabal from Spain. Alexander Levy moved into 74 place in the World Rankings and 11th in the Race to Dubai.

Ladies European Tour - Florentyna Parker

Mediterranean Ladies Open - Terramar - Stiges- Spain - 20th to 23rd April, 2017.

Florentyna Parker representing England won the Open in a three-way play-off against Sweden's Anna Nordquist and Spain's Carlota Ciganda. This win mover Parker into third position in the LET Rankings.

Challenge Tour - Ryan Evans

Turkish Airlines Challenge - Gloria - Belek - Antalya - Turkey - 20th to 23rd April, 2017.

Englsihman Ryan Evens gained his maiden win to the Challenge Tour inn Turkey. He ended four strokes less than his nearest rival, Tapio Pulkkanen from Finland. In third place was Julien Guerrier from France. Ryan Evens moved to 314th in the World Rankings and 2nd place in Road to Oman.

European Tour - Bernd Wiesberger

Shenzhen International - Genzon - Shenzhen - China - 20th to 23rd April, 2017.

Austrian Bernd Wiesberger added in Shenzhen to his his three previous wins on Tour. He had to beat Englishman Tommy Fleetwood in a play-off. Gregory Bourdy and Ross Fisher tied in a stoke further back. Wiesberger moved to 30th position the World Rankings and 6th in the Race to Dubai.

European Tour - Edoardo Molinari

Trophee Hassan II - Royal Golf - Dar Es Salam - Rabat - Morocco - 13th to 16th April, 2017.

Italian golfer Edoardo Molinari gained his 5th Tour title in Morocco when he beat Irishman Paul Dunne in a play-off. In third place was Englishman Paul Waring with one more stroke. Molinari moved to 243rd place in the World Rankings and 15th in the Race to Dubai.

European Tour - Sergio Garcia

Masters Tournament - Augusta - Georgia - USA - 6th to 9th of April, 2017.

The ever popular Sergio Garcia won the “Masters” in Augusta! In a challenging end battle between Sergio Garcia and his good friend Justin Rose he claimed a much deserved victory on the extra one hole play-off. This was Sergio’s 73rd attempt of a 'Masters' win and it also fell happily on the birth date of his golf idol Ballesteros. This win moved Sergio into 7th place in the World Rankings and 1st in the Race for Dubai.

European Tour - Dustin Johnson

WGC - Match Play - Austin - Texas - USA - 22nd to 26th March, 2017.

USA golfer Dustin Johnson gained his fifth Tour victory when he took win in Austin in the WGC - Match Play. In second place was Spanish player Jon Rahm followed by another American, Bill Haas in third. With this win Dustin Johnson moved into first place on the World Rankings.
