European Ryder Cup captain Paul McGinley has had a new honour bestowed on him after receiving honorary membership of the prestigious Quinta do Lago Golf Club in Portugal's Algarve. The company 'Greeni App' in its attempt to build a mailing list is offering all new users who register with their App will be entered into a monthly free prize draw to win a five-day stay and with three rounds of golf in the Algarve. The Victoria Course will be closed to golfers from the 1st to the 15th of October for the annual Portuguese Masters Event on the European Tour. During August and September the Benamor Course provide a free trolley after 15.00 hrs. The Monte Rei Course is providing free 'Tapas' lunch to players teeing off between 8.00 and 9.30 hrs until the 31st of October. The Vale do Lobo Royal and Ocean Courses are providing until the 15th of September a free Buggy to players teeing off after 13.00 hrs. The Palmares Course near Lagos is offering a Buggy with a golfers booking for their Summer Special until the 15th of September. Quinta do Vale Course is involved in the alteration of some Greens on the 2nd, 3rd and 20th of September and therefore in the days following the greens will be in a recovery phase. Quinta do Vale Course is involved in the alteration of some Greens on the 2nd, 3rd and 20th of September and therefore in the days following the greens will be in a recovery phase.

Entry fee is only € 53.00 for the green fee, drinks at the course, hotel welcome drink, dinner and prizes.

Europe Solheim Cup Parker - Colorado USA - 16th to 18th August 2013 Europe Ladies Team led by Captain Liselotte Newmann from Sweden with a historical first win on US soil. A points victory of 18 to 10 with the outstanding player being Caroline Hedwall claiming five wins out of five matches. The team consisted of Anna Nordqvist (Swe), Annika Sorenstam (Swe), Azahara Munoz (Spn), Beatriz Recari (Spn), Carin Koch (Swe), Carlota Ciganda (Spn), Caroline Hedwell (Swe), Caroline Masson (Ger), Catarina Charley Hull (Eng), Catriona Matthew (Sco), Charley Hull (Eng), Giulia Sergas (Ita), Jodi Ewart-Shadoff (Eng), Karine Icher (Fra), Suzann Petterssen (Nor).

Davis Love III collected his fourth victory of the year as he led from start to finish to win the International at Castle Pines, Colorado. Davis moved up 3 positions to No.3 in World Golf Ranking and moved past Tiger Woods to the top of the US PGA TOUR Money List with $5,122,038 from 15 events. Vijay Singh and Retief Goosen were the joint runners-up. Vijay moved down one spot to World No.4 while Retief Goosen remained at World No.12.

US Open Champion Jim Furyk won the Buick Open by two strokes from Tiger Woods, Chris DiMarco, Briny Baird and Geoff Ogilvy. Fruyk improved 3 places to a career-high World Ranking position at No.3 and up to No.2 on the PGA Tour money list with $4,401,313 – second to Tiger Woods with $4,810,496. Of the runners up Tiger Woods remained at the top of the World Ranking with 7.87 points clear of World No.2 Ernie Els. Chris DiMarco enjoyed a 3-place jump to No.14. Briny Baird moved into the Top-100 at No.84 while Geoff Ogilvy became the 11th highest-ranked Australasian as he moved to No.101.

Tiger Woods - (USA) WGC - Bridgestone Invitational Akron Ohio - USA - 1st to 4th August, 2013 Tiger Woods is back in the driving seat! With a score of 15 under, Tiger Woods ended with seven shots clear of defending champion Keegan Bradley and Sweden's Henrik Stenson. This was his 18th win in 42 World Golf Championships taking his career earnings in the WGC tournaments now to an excess of US$25,000, 000. It also gave him 79 US PGA Tour titles and only within three of the famous Sam Snead's all-time record of 82. It was also his 40th victory on the European Tour in which he has competed 124 times. He also made history by being the first golfer to win the same Tour Event eight times.

Stacy Lewis - (USA) British Women's Open The Old Course - St. Andrews - Scotland - 1st to 4th August, 2013 Inspirational USA Stacy Lewis won the British Women's Open by 2 strokes over Hee Young Park and Na Yeon Choi, both from South Korea. Stacy is the first USA player to win this event since Sherri Steinhauer in 2006. This was her eighth career victory and her second Major Championship event. With this win she holds the 2nd position in the World Women's Rankings.

Jason Dufner - (USA) US PGA Championship Rochester - New York - USA- 8th to 11th August, 2013 This win was for Jason Dufner his first Major title with an outstanding low score of 63 on his second round. Jason Dufner and ending up with a two stroke victory over the USA Jim Furyk and Swedish Henrik Stenson who was trailing Furyk by one stroke. It was also his first European Tour win in his 32nd event. He moved back into the Top Ten in the World Rankings.

Ann-Kathrin Lindner - (Germany) Pilson Golf Masters Prague - Check Republic - 9th to 11th August, 2013 The 25 year old German, Ann-Kathrin Lindner claimed her first Tour victory on only her eight attempt. Her final round placed her only one stroke ahead of her nearest rivals, Alexandra Vilatte from France and Diana Luna from Italy.

Tommy Fleetwood - (England) Johnnie Walker Championship Gleneagles - Perthshire - Scotland - 22nd to 25th August, 2013 At 25 years of age, England's Tommy Fleetwood won his first European Tour Event in his 65th attempt beating his previous best result of tied 5th in the 2011 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. This victory moved him up into the Top 200 in the World Rankings. In a sudden death playoff with Scotland's Stephen Gallacher and Argentina's Ricardo Gonzalez he had only to play the first extra hole to claim his title.

Gregory Bourdy - (France) Wales Open Newport - Wales - 29th to 1st September, 2013 In his 9th appearance in the Wales Open golfer Gregory Bourdy became the first Frenchman to win. His impressive long putting helped him to defeat both USA golfers Peter Uihlein and Danish Soren Kjeldsen by two strokes. He also ended his final round with a row of three birdies. This was his 4 victory on the European Tour in 247 events and moved him into the Top 120 in the World Ranking. It was his first win since in success in 2009 in the Hong Kong Open.

Catriona Matthew - (Scotland) Ladies Scottish Open East Lothian - Scotland - 30th to 1st September, 2013 With many years of golf experience the 44 year old Catriona Matthew gained her second win of the Scottish Open in 3 years. This was her 11th victory on the Tour and she beat her nearest rival, England's Hannah Burke, by two strokes with the rest of the field some way back.
