The Portuguese Golf Federation held its National Seniors Championship on the 4th to the 5th of July at Morgado do Reguengo, the course to the north of the town of Portimao.

On 17th July the 5th ASMAL a charity tournament was held on the Vilamoura Millennium course. This worthy charity organisation helps re-integrate people with mental health problems into the workforce.

Retief Goosen - (South Africa) Smurfit European Open The K Club - Straffan - Co. Kildare - Ireland - 1st to 4th July, 2004 South African golfer Retief Goosen claimed the victory at the European Tour of the European Open in Ireland with a comfortable five stroke lead over a threesome of Richard Green, Peter O'Malley and Lee Westwood.

Thomas Levet - (France) The Barclays Scottish Open Loch Lomond - Glasgow - Scotland - 8th to 11th July, 2004 Frenchman Thomas Levet won the Scottish Open on the European Tour in Glasgow beating Michael Campbell from New Zealand by one stroke. Another stroke back were golfers Ernie Els and David Howell.

Todd Hamilton - (USA) 133rd Open Championship Royal Troon - Ayrshire - Scotland - 15th to 18th July, 2004 American Todd Hamilton claimed the 133rd Open Championship at Royal Troon on the European Tour. It ended in a playoff between him and Ernie Els from South Africa with Phil Mickelson from the USA only one stroke further back.

Brett Rumford - (Australia) Nissan Irish Open Co Louth - Baltray - Drogheda - Ireland - 22nd to 25th July, 2004 Australian golfer Brett Rumford won the Irish Open on the European Tour at Drogheda with a four stroke advantage over local player Padraig Harington and Raphael Jacquelin from France.

Luke Donald - (England) Scandinavian Masters Barseback - Malmo - Sweden - 29th to 1st August, 2004 With a comfortable five stoke lead Luke Donald from England won the Scadinavian Masters in Malmo on the European Tour. Local golfers, Peter Hanson and Henrik Stenson were his nearest rivals.
