on Wed, 6th Nov 2024 Terrible pace of play! Teed off at 13.50. Far far too many players on the course. I walked off after 15 holes after more than 4.5 hours. The course has a few pretty holes on the back 9 but otherwise extremely average. Condition was average too. The management are to blame for squeezing too many players on the course which means waiting on every tee and ultimately spoiling the golfing experience. One to avoid!!!! |

on Mon, 7th Oct 2024 Vale do Lobo Ocean Course Review Check in was very easy and Staff were all friendly. The course was busy but pace of play moved well and we took around 4.5hrs to play the 18 holes. The Course is not maintained in terms of unfilled divots on the fairways, which was disappointing. Vale do Lobo should make it mandatory for every player to carry a Sand Bags on their Golf Trolley/Bag and provide Bottles of Sand on each Cart, so that divots can be filled in on the fairways. Also despite signs on every flag on the greens, players were failing to repair their pitch marks. We also noticed that the Greenkeeping Staff are allowing the Kikuyu grass to encroach onto the Greens which will negatively affect the putting surface, unless they work on this very soon. In summary, we were slightly disappointed with Vale Do Lobo Ocean Course, in terms of the maintenance of the course, and would choose other better maintained courses in the area, to get our value for money in the future. |

on Thu, 5th Sep 2024 Ocean delivers Ocean delivers again. Played Royal & Ocean back to back in consecutive days. Ocean was certainly the better of the two with the greens being the big difference. Overall tee to green the course was in good shape considering it’s towards the end of the season. Due to the course being heavily watered, the rough is punishing. Costs everyone playing many shots. Bunkers were impeccable. |

on Wed, 31st Jul 2024 Quality as per usual A great course in the Vale do lobo and Quinta do Lago region , I play it a couple of times per year , condition of the course is always at a high standard , it is a touch more friendly off the tee than the Royal , playing at 07.20 means a lot of workers on the course so flow of the round wasn’t there , maybe got unlucky that Wednesday is a big maintenance day , for the green fee price of the Ocean course it’s one not to be missed |

on Mon, 15th Jul 2024 Good course - few items could improve service Some stunning holes on the back nine, which made it much more enjoyable although it was also more challenging than front nine. No delays on course which was great. We were disappointed that the driving range was limited to a maximum 9 iron, but we weren’t informed about that before buying too many tokens (non refundable) and we were unable to use 1 bay with net around it for (wood through to 8 iron) as it had holes in it - apparently to be replaced next week. Maintenance crew out on hole 5 at left bunker were also in danger as unsighted from tee box and weren’t helpful in moving their cart to allow a 2nd shot chip into the green. |

We didn’t see a beverage cart until well into the back 9 despite calling for one at least 3-4 times. Very disappointing considering it was really hot that day. I did mention this to the course admin but they said the beverage cart is not managed by them but rather the restaurant attached. Such a shame. |

Missed the rain but the staff were there with towels to give to those poor souls who got caught in the heavy downpour which was great service. |

Wow what a fantastic set up they have at Valo do Lobo clubhouse, very efficient and helpful staff in reception and buggy station, great practice facilites. The course itself is a gem, remember to take a camera with you as you will play some fantastically laid out holes here with spectacular views. The course is in fantastic condition, many green maintenance staff in attendance fairways, bunkers, greens all faultless. The only issue as with many other holiday courses are the amount of unrepaired pitch marks on the greens, us golfers need to take a good hard look at ourselves with this and repair your pitchmarks...ok rant over. Buggys are all in a new condition, ice box and water supplied, the whole complex is great and the prices to play these courses are very competitive as you are playing a quality course. Can I also say that Algarve Golf are a fantastic company to book with, James Crawford was super helpful for the whole time we were there and could not do enough for us to ensure our stay and experience was 5 star. |

Actually golf sandals are accepted all over Arizona in courses as respectable as the Vale do Lobo. It was unfortunate that we had to buy golf shoes on site. Please advise in advance in the future and show a little bit of common sense of ever a foreign customer come up with something unusual. |

The ladies tee boxes were also in good shape - so nice to be able to stand flat and not look down on hole after brown hole. Starting early, we finished play in just over 3 hours. It was a pleasure. |

on Tue, 28th Feb 2023 beautiful scenary but you need to take a buggy 4 golfers in february: beautiful golf course, with beautiful sea landscape especially on the back nine; but the course is long and with many slopes, so we advise to take buggies: we were walking and it was tiring, and with some stress because others players had buggy, so we had always the feeling to be slow, even if we finish the 18 holes in 4h30. |

The course is in decent shape, except for lots of pitch marks. It's somewhere between a 3 and 4 - the relatively slow pace of play always makes it less fun. |
