on Thu, 23rd Nov 2023 Fantastic experience A new course that we found in excellent condition. The course is very challenging for the average golfer but well worth a visit as the scenery and course quality is wonderful. The welcome and service was great although the clubhouse facilities are limited at the moment. |

on Sun, 5th Nov 2023 First time at ombria What a great challenge. Really entertaining and unique course. Greens in superb condition and some very challenging holes that might spook some, especially when windy. Obviously brand new, so fairways and greens lacking depth of grass roots but in time this will change and the course will improve. Likewise the clubhouse is not complete yet but this did not distract from the enjoyment. As the course becomes busier it could get very slow as suspect lots will be looking for golf balls and a few holes cross over meaning waiting for players to finish a hole before teeing off, i.e the first. 6 par 3’s and 5 par 5’s means it has the fewest par 4’s i’ve played, hence the uniqueness. Walking is not possible, buggys i presume are mandatory. I look forward to playing again though especially when more mature. |

on Wed, 11th Oct 2023 Slow play A lovely course - the first nine holes with many elevated tees, are really special. Let down, however, by poor management. Two rounds both took 5 hours to play. No marshals (that we could see) to speed things up - maybe just too many on the course. Not enough buggies - we had to wait for ours even though those behind us had theirs. Quite a contrast from the efficiency of the Quinta courses we played later in the week. It's a new course so hopefully these sort of things will be ironed out in due course, when I would look forward to returning. |

on Sun, 8th Oct 2023 New course with potential to become highly rated. Course, which is set in the hills just North of Loulé, only opened to the public earlier this year. Buggies included are essential as there is a lot of elevation changes from greens to tees. Views spectacular. Course condition excellent with some very large greens proving a real test. Very tight front 9 - if you miss the narrow fairways your ball will fall off the sides into scrub land or dry river beds or trees. Back 9 more forgiving. The clubhouse is not yet open making the overall experience somewhat disappointing….no terraces open for sitting on and no bar facilities. There is a caravan in the area by the first tee serving a very limited range of drinks and snacks. Nowhere to sit. In time and when the development is complete this course certainly has the potential to be up there with the best the Algarve has to offer, but still a long way to go. |

on Sat, 23rd Sep 2023 Don't expect a Raincheck Scenically superb somewhat contrived course design with 6 par 3's. unsuitable for higher handicappers. Agree with others: play it once but don't expect to make a regular haunt. Service polite but refused a raincheck on an exceptionally bad day with driving rain saying that the course was still 'open'. |

on Sun, 10th Sep 2023 Must play Cant not give it 5*. Its a must. The course needs some refining (proper restaurant, driving range), but for pure golfing its incredible. Shout out to Paolo as well. |

on Sun, 20th Aug 2023 Over Rated Completely over rated golf course and under whelming compared to the reviews I read prior to play. Greens are in good condition but fairways will take more time to bed in which is understandable for such a new course. Course has gimmicky holes which become tiresome. Front nine has plenty of undulation and course is in good condition but there are many better Algarve courses to play. Pace of play was unacceptable at 4.5 hours for a 3 ball. Unfortunately they set time par at 4 hours 45 mins which is frankly ridiculous on a course where buggy’s must be used. Staff are excellent and new buggy’s are well equipped. |

on Sat, 19th Aug 2023 Sandy Front nine very compact with poor signage . Back Nine better but not great. I can see problems with slow play when the course Is busy plus getting players from car park to club House. Over all does not match Up to other courses in the Algarve. The staff where first class. |

on Mon, 14th Aug 2023 Spectacular, but Ombria is spectacular, but more scenic than a series and good golf course. The front nine plays thru a very narrow valley and up step hills, the back nine on the other side of a hill. Play it once and decide if it fits you. Condition was good for a new course, service excellent. |

on Fri, 21st Jul 2023 Ombria Definitely the best course on the Algarve if you are looking for a stunning well kept playable course Some Tee shots are daunting but very playable The course uses the terrain like no other The front 9 are outstanding while the back 9 are still fantastic though not quite as spectacular I wonder if it will ever host the Portuguese open though as it may not quite be challenging enough even off the back Tee’s However that is of no interest to us average golfers who will love to play this stunning course |

on Fri, 30th Jun 2023 Superb Course but Clubhouse not quite finished This is an outstanding course with some stunning views from the Tee boxes. Greens are true, bunkers challenging but in very good condition with plenty of sand. A couple of the Tee Boxes were a bit scrappy but don't let that put you off. There are a couple of tight fairways but if you stay straight you'll be fine. We saw lots of activity from the greenkeepers and this course is being well looked after. Be aware that you need to book clubs in advance if you need them. Do not assume they will have them available although they did for us on the day. I fully expect the cost of playing this course to rise significantly next year once the clubhouse is fully open so recommend playing it soon if you want a bargain. |

on Tue, 23rd May 2023 Spectacular New Course Stunning course, but not quite ready (e.g. bar not open, hire clubs not arrived, still fitting out the club house). That aside which I am sure will be sorted soon the course is spectacular with many of the tee boxes cut high into the side of the mountains playing in to well manicured fairways and fast, true greens. |

on Mon, 22nd May 2023 Service very good. Course very difficult and not for the average golfer. Very long carries to many fairways. Lots of trouble. Very poor signs for the next tee and virtually no information at tees with no map or index or distances. Went wrong way at least 5 times as no indication of next tee. Score card is a joke, it being a scrap of paper with a map that was so small as to make it useless.. No food available. |

on Thu, 18th May 2023 1 for all golfers living and visiting the Algarve We played ombria today for the first time, the welcome from the staff was first class and they couldn't of been more friendly, The golf course was an absolute pleasure to play, So many great looking holes and stunning views. The greens was fast and very true, (tricky to read). Fairways and rough in first class condition, This is one of the best golf courses in the Algarve yes its up there with Monte Rei and Laranjal, ( in my opinion) Just make sure you pick the right tees for your level of golf. I didn't play well today but that didn't take away the pleasure of playing Ombria golf course . We will definitely return. Thank you Ombria |
