on Sat, 19th Oct 2024 Not good enough Nice clubhouse. The range was completely useless. We used 5,5 hours on our round due to an overcrowded course and It was dark when we reached 17th hole. So we only played 16 holes. Tee boxes were of pour quality, the carts slow and we had technical problems with them as well. Not sure we will play this course again I’m afraid. |

on Fri, 18th Oct 2024 Definitely worth a visit A challenging but fair course in good overall condition. Play was slow, over 5 hours and why don’t some golfers rake the bunkers and repair pitch marks. It’s part of the culture of the game. Love Life, Love Golf |

on Sun, 6th Oct 2024 Looking tired and in need of investment. Have been playing this course annually since inception. Sad therefore to see that it seems to be on the decline. No longer meet & greet in the car park. Carry your own clubs down to the buggy park where only 1 member of staff on duty , struggling to cope with the numbers for both courses. Buggies in need of replacement ( torn seats, no complimentary tees, no ice in the ice buckets and most frustrating of all, no GPS on the screens (obviously not paying for this service). Driving range - teeing ground in very poor condition and the balls in despite need of replacement. Cart paths - generally ok but not particularly well cared for (weeds growing through the cobbles) Tees - very difficult to find a flat lie on the tee. Sparse in grass but heavily sanded) Fairways…excellent Greens …excellent and a good pace with ball rolling true. Bunkers….very poor condition and a severe lack of rakes given the size of the bunkers, with some not even having one in them. Buggy bar service…very good Pace of play…least said..but 5hours 20 mins. Starter on 1st tee…..sat in his buggy the whole time, no interaction and basically left to our own devices. Overall, very enjoyable to play but be prepared and as Sid, a big reinvestment is long overdue. |

on Sun, 8th Sep 2024 Greens and fairways were immaculate. Bunkers were also good. Tee boxes were terrible and a few scabby areas around the course. You can tell it was an amazing course and complex when it first opened but it’s generally looking quite tired in a lot of places. That aside it’s definitely worth playing but doesn’t match up to the ‘Faldo’ expectations |

on Tue, 20th Aug 2024 Great course, mixed condition Played the Faldo numerous times before so I knew it was a great course and a really tough test from the White tees. Condition was pretty mixed to be honest. Some tee boxes were like second cut of rough when u put your tee into the ground it was barely above the grass and some of the teeing areas were tiny and extremely worn. Fairways were generally excellent. Bunkers were a real mixed bag, loads of rock hard ones with no chance of playing a proper bunker shot and then the odd one stacked full of powdery sand! Greens were decent, not overly fast but extremely pure and quite soft and spongy considering the fact it was 39 degrees whilst playing! |

on Thu, 15th Aug 2024 Poor Course in Very poor condition and staff other than front desk were inattentive. It’s as though we were a disruption to their day. Would not return, not worth the green fee. |

on Wed, 14th Aug 2024 Good course but can be so much better Pace of play was pathetic due to too many bookings squeezed into one hour. Tee times every 7 mins. Course is difficult and players need to choose correct tees. Only single figure handicap golfers should consider playing here. Back nine in particular is very tricky. Condition was good and greens very true and nice pace. Not enough staff to manage pace of play. Starter was excellent. Sadly the carts have a screen but no distances…… weird. On this course it would speed up play if players could see distances. |

on Tue, 13th Feb 2024 Faldo Fabulous The very challenging holes combined with more straight forward holes keep even the most average player like me energized, challenged and rewarded. Good pace of play. The overall course is on an enormous piece of land so there is also a lot of landscape architecture and hole design to take in. It’s a wow! |

on Wed, 18th Oct 2023 An incredibly challenging but enjoyable course This is possibly the most challenging course I've ever played on and it's the sort of place you need to play a few times to figure out how to play it. Having said that, it was very enjoyable. The only main downside is that the people ahead of us were really slow (looking for lost balls) and it took us just short of 6 hours to get round. Not a course for poor golfers!!!!! Buggie absolutely essential. |

on Wed, 4th Oct 2023 Great course A* Stunning but hilly course (faldo) that was a pleasure to play, you need a buggy. Wayward shots punished you, stray too far left or right and you are in trouble. on Thu, 28th Sep 2023 I would play elsewhere! When we first played this course 6 years ago we were blown away with it, unfortunately after this year it will be the last time we do. The course is hideously overplayed now (along with the o’Connor) due to the all inclusive golf packages the resort offers. Tee boxes are a mess, greens aren’t hammered. The Dom Pedro and Vale De Lobo courses are definitely a much better option. Don’t bother with buffet breakfast here (price was made up on the spot - started at €30 and was reduced to €15 when we questioned). The plates are side plates (no joke) the bacon has bone in it and the sausages are little frankfurters! |

on Tue, 19th Sep 2023 Faldo Course Great layout, very challenging, but unfortunately a lot of the surrounding area (off the fairway) were in poor condition. As were the bunkers and tee boxes. Such a shame that there’s a lack of maintenance on a great track. Fairways and Greens were fairly good. |

on Sat, 22nd Jul 2023 Nice course, grumpy staff I play Faldo regularly as I have a place nearby. The course is good, challenging and well kept. Some of the tee boxes are tired and overused, but that's acceptable at this time of year after a busy season. My main issue with Amendoeira in general is how unwelcoming the staff seem. The receptionists are always moody and yesterday even our buggie guy reflected the same mood as the miserable receptionist. It's like these people don't want you to visit! Amendoeira's management need to consider some training and maybe send their staff to Vale do Lobo (or even their sister course at Palmares) to see how customers should be treated. I won't return to Amendoeira this summer, as I'd rather pay a little extra and enjoy the overall experience and treatment. Shame as the course is fun. |

Very dangerous car paths, lots of waste in many bushes, tons of bunkers without sand/hardly playable. Greens aerified lately, tee boxes - gras way to long. on Wed, 5th Jul 2023 Good summer special deal Challenging and well maintained course, we thought the summer special price was very good value. Rental clubs were high quality and in great condition. on Mon, 15th May 2023 Faldo, quelle frustration Parcours agréable pour les 9 premiers trous le retour, parcontre, est indigne du standing de ce golf temps de jeu de plus de 5h en voiturette qui s'explique en partie par le temps nécessaire pour trouver ses balles lors des nombreux coups en aveugle, pas de commissaire pour faire respecter les horaires .. |

on Sat, 15th Apr 2023 Faldo unacceptably slow. 3 hours for the first 9 holes. We called the marshals when there were 5 x 4 balls waiting on the 4th tee after 1 and a half hours. We have played the Faldo every year since it opened, sadly we will not return until they sort themselves out. |

on Sat, 4th Feb 2023 Twilight golf. Exhausting Welcome and staff great. Course. Challenging to say the least.. poor condition due to dry weather and lack of watering due to risk of frost apparently. Fairways brown and worn but lots of run. Greens excellent still and are clearly being irrigated so don’t think frost argument can be true. So for the current price felt overcharged. I enjoyed the challenge as an 11 handicapper but my wife at 32 handicap hated it as did other higher handicappers. 5 hour round is the norm due to challenge and huge walks between tees. . Played 16 holes with 1.20 tee time |

on Wed, 1st Feb 2023 Tough strategic layout Great layout, but very tough. Some long par 4s, and so many raised greens, very tricky. Fairways were great and greens were as well. Difficult judging pace particularly if you’re above the hole. Strategy is key. If you can’t reach green in regulation, you need to pick a good spot to get up and down. on Thu, 19th Jan 2023 Faldo course played January 23. You have to be long and reasonably straight as this is a bit of a brute of a course! Some tees a bit dodgy but otherwise the course is well kept, greens firm and fair but not straightforward! Unless you're an Olympian take the buggy on offer as this is a long walk between tees as well as a long course. |

on Wed, 31st Aug 2022 Fun, challenging course well worth playing Fun, challenging course with great views and spectacular vistas. Mostly long par threes and unusual par fives. Course condition is above-average. Greens are in good shape and fairways are mostly well-watered and attractive. Be sure to book early tee times because the course becomes crowded and backed-up by late morning. GPS is worthless--no distances shown and glitchy software. Cheap, well-used rental clubs so bring your own if you can. |

on Fri, 10th Jun 2022 Faldo tough but fair for serious golfers Tough course but very well presented. Played the white, which was challenging and I would only recommend for those in good driving form. My partner also commented it was one of the few courses in Algarve that had good Women’s tees. (She plays off 10.) Probably the hardest course we played in the Algarve, and could destroy the high handicapper as too many big carries. But we loved it. |

Hard waste areas, buggy paths, & fences have not been maintained for many years making the course look ‘unloved’.
