on Thu, 22nd May 2025 Morgado Golf Course Review – May 2025 Morgado Golf Course Review – May 2025 A group of six of us from the UK had the pleasure of playing Morgado Golf Course in mid-May, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. Facilities: Right from arrival, the setup is impressive. Morgado shares its facilities with the nearby Álamos Golf Course, and together they offer a first-class experience. The grass practice range is a real bonus—not something you find everywhere—and the clubhouse is modern, welcoming, and serves excellent food. Whether you're grabbing a bite before your round or relaxing afterward, it's a great place to unwind. Course Conditions: The course itself was in fantastic condition during our visit. We were pleasantly surprised to learn it has previously hosted the Portuguese Open—something that quickly made sense once we got out on the course. Layout and Playability: Morgado is a long test, especially from the yellow tees. The par 4s typically stretch beyond 400 yards, and the par 3s hover around the 200-yard mark, so bring your long game. That said, it's a fair course. The fairways are generous with wide landing areas, which gives you some confidence off the tee, and the greens are large and receptive, providing a fair challenge on approach shots and putting. Overall Impression: Morgado is a course that strikes a great balance: it's challenging without being punishing, beautifully maintained, and backed by excellent facilities. It’s definitely a course we’d recommend to any golfers visiting the Algarve, and one we’d all happily return to. |

on Sat, 10th May 2025 Slow play over booked Too slow, 3 hours to play 9 holes...had to leave at 13 because constantly waiting 3 to 4 mins to hit the next shot. No marshals to keep play moving, I think they overbook the tee times to cram in players. Wont be going back |

on Mon, 21st Apr 2025 Course are both nice with different challenges. Greens were slow but true and fair. Played both courses over 2 days and recurrent theme is pace of play. Both days were the same: 5 hours in both cases. There seem to be a lack of organization to match singles and pairs with other groups. Group of 5 played ahead of us and were allowed a full nine like this. Otherwise, very enjoyable if you are not afraid of the wind. |

The infrastructure around the course looks poor, still trying to recover from 2008 financial crash with substantial incomplete complexes which need removed and unattractive roads/entrance to the course. Overall would not hesitate to return as golf is excellent |

The greens are very large and although they are fairly easy to hit can leave you with so very difficult long putts on very fast greed |

Leider darf man, genau wie beim benachbarten Alamos-Course, nur noch bei einigen Bahnen mit dem Buggy übers Fairway fahren, oftmals muss man auf den Wegen bleiben. Wenn man kein Präzisionsspieler ist, sind die Wege zu Fuß da mitunter sehr lang. Insgesamt ist der Platz eine klare Empfehlung |

Abandoned half finished condos surrounding the course. Clearly the developer ran out of money. The course is in rough shape and not maintain ed. The club house is not real clean. Over all not worth the money. Greens were fuzz and the whole course is suffering from lack of irrigation. |

Challenging course and in very good condition…..hands down they have the best greens in the Algarve IMO. Well worth a visit. |

Plenty of run though. Despite the fact that the course is bone dry we were still finding stubbed out cigarette butts on the ground. Why are some people so selfish and stupid? |

on Sat, 9th Sep 2023 Resembled an M25 traffic jam Poor condition due to lack of rain apart from immaculate greens. 4 balls packed into 9 minute intervals resulting in dreadful traffic jams = 5 hours plus. No hazards (other than bunkers) and even the rough is not challenging. The scenery is ruined by half built derelict ugly apartments. Basically a big flat field so will not be returning. |

Once the fairways are back to there best the course would be brilliant. Nice driving range and great staff and service provided on and off course |
