Average Course
Good course in reasonable condition. Greens too slow and very large.

Pace of play too slow.

Course is flat with too many greens close to tees. Holes feel squashed.

Would not recommend.

Usually take lots of pics but took none on this course!!

Absolutely stunning!
Wow. What a course. From the moment you step on the first tee, you know you're in for a treat here. The course is in immaculate condition. Fairways are like carpets and the greens are lovely too.

There's some wonderful holes to play here, 2, 7 and 18 in particular. A beautiful course to play golf on and I would absolutely recommend it. We've added this to our must play list when we next visit. Brilliant.

Best course in Quinta area
Having played the 3 Quinta’s & 2 VDL courses along with San Lorenzo it’s Laranjal that tops the list as the best course for me. No house lined fairways and no crossing of roads makes it feel more like a parkland course, condition is always top and since they reversed the 9’s it’s a great finish with the risk/reward par 5 18th. Holes 14, 15, and 16 are as good as your will play anywhere and I recommend walking the course with an electric trolley to take it all in, looking forward to playing it again in 2025 !

My favourite course. Everything about this place is immaculate. Top class fairways and greens. Definitely not for the high handicap golfer. Lots of big bunkers and water . A wonderful experience.

Beautiful course in excellent condition. It is a challenge but you can see where you need to hit the ball on almost every shot. However, you need good satnav on two of the par 5s!

The course a good test of golf. Unfortunately, we had to play cart paths only which made it a tough walk.

Nice course but club house a little disappointingly small and has it was very wet very little space in side

Driving range opposite the clubhouse staff very friendly,score suffered by going into so many bunkers , it’s definitely another course I would go back to

Superb Course
Played on Jan 29 and Feb 7. Course is in Good condition. With no Rough and only a few lakes, Course Looks easier than it is!. More or less flat, comfortable to Walk

Large fast Greens.

Wow what an amazing course
Excellent course. Played in Feb and it wasn’t too busy. Relatively new to golf so some of the holes were a challenge but not enough to ruin the day. Would definitely suggest a golf visit to Algarve includes this course. Sure beats contending with boggy courses and howling wind in Lancashire!

Beware the 18th!
Interesting course always in tip-top condition. Not too hilly so could be walked comfortably and the playing time was around 4hrs 30, started a little slowly but sped up around the turn. Greens very good. The 18th has to be one of the best finishing holes in the area, risk and reward at its best!

Buggy
Very early start made the start a bit tricky but very smooth. Golf course in good condition. No problem with pace of play as we were out early. One gripe with a buggy was that the two notices on divots etc came up incessantly on the screen and had to be acknowledged each time. Very annoying.

One of the best in central Algarve
Wonderful course for the competent golfer. You can see exactly where you should hit each shot and get rewarded when you manage to. Great condition, beautifully manicured and nice speedy greens. Great practice area if slightly away from the course itself. Buggy recommended/

Excellent course but pace of play an issue
Course in very good condition with greens running true & fast. Since my last visit of a few years ago they have switched the routing of the course with the back 9 now becoming the front 9 and vice versa. This new routing definitely flows a lot better but unfortunately the round still took 5hrs 15 mins - this is unacceptable. A Marshall did appear midway though out back 9 but should have been on the case a lot sooner.

Overall though, great facilities, nice to see the frequent visits by the buggy bar, especially in the hot weather.

Hard packed, fast rolling fairways
We initialy found it difficult to play the hard packed and fast (rolling)fairways , coming from the wet and soggy winter courses in Central Europe. After a few holes we adjusted and really started to enjoy it. Open, rolling and undulated fairways, some very difficult (interesting)greens. Love to come back.

Restaurant unfortunately not inviting.

Challenging
Still a favourite, but the pace of play left lots to be desired. The course is well maintained. It plays much better with the 'new' layout, but we had to start on hole 10 which makes less sense.

What a wonderful course :) Very friendly people, small but well equipped shop, nice hole 19, very good practice facilities and then the course itself...What's not to love ... Challenging, variation, well taken care of. Definitely one my new favourites!

Golfen im Orangenhain
Sehr schöner Platz mit schnellen Grüns. Einige sehr schwere Löcher mit abwechslungsreichem Layout. Buggy empfehlenswert aber nicht unbedingt notwendig. Der Platz liegt ungefähr vom Flughafen Faro entfernt und gehört zu den 3 Quinta do Lago Plätzen.

Buggies problem
Only negative aspect was Carts (buggies) were banned from the fairways which made them pointless, the distances from path to ball were ridiculous and had to carry 3 or 4 clubs each time. Electric trolleys should have been made available or a full refund on the two buggies (100 Euros)

Great golf course, must play
Marvellous course and impeccable conditions. All around great experience except for the clubhouse. It's tiny, and the toilets are even smaller than that. Go to the driving range across the street if you need the restroom.

Superb lay out and again very accommodating staff.

We played it in 2019 and would have to say it was in better condition.

The greens were true but suffering from pitch marks and scuffing from less conscientious golfers.

Amazing
Pristine, without doubt one of the best manicured courses I have played. After a 10 minute drive through scrubland you are treated with 5* golf and service. Top 2 I have played in the algarve

Course condition was good, staff were quite possibly the rudest I have ever met anywhere in the world. Transfer from our accommodation was 20 minutes late, driver got very defensive when challenged on it, staff on checkout informed us we had to leave as soon as round was over, not much opportunity to enjoy post round cool down after playing, would not recommend this course to anyone based on this experience, very disappointing

Top condition with minor detriments
Course in top condition but rather expensive. Unfortunately no distance signs at the fringe of fairways ans no ball washer at the tees.

All in all good price performance ratio.

Fantastic, scenic course
This is a proper golf course. Fabulous views everywhere you look. It has a wide open outlook and plenty of forgiveness for errant drives. Once you get to the greens though, the test really begins. The large greens have many and varied slopes and downhill putts are very quick. The lakes are cleverly used to affect several holes. Every hole is interesting,particularly two par 5s that double dogleg over two lots of water. As a bonus, the buggies have touch screen maps of the holes where you can find distances to hazards, greens, etc. On the downside, it’s expensive to play and the buggies are extra.
