Still very small, still very rustic, and still very good. The restaurant can be found about half way up on the Monchique to Foia road. It is set slightly above the road on the left hand side with a small parking area facing on the right side. There is a crowded inside room and an equally crowded outside terrace. It is probably wiser to make a reservation. |

They all serve fresh seafood and some Portuguese specialties and this restaurant was chosen because of the particular friendliness of its table staff and busy atmosphere. |

It was very popular but slipped during the last years. However, in 2014 it upgraded its decor which presents a pleasant interior but still maintaining a touch of style. The service is back to being both friendly and efficient, with the cuisine a good mixture of traditional Portuguese dishes and international favorites. In general be prepared for generous helpings! It is also popular with the local Portuguese businessmen and quite busy most weekends and accepts Credit Cards. |

It is also worth asking what is thedish of the dayand the deserts are to be recommended as they are personally made by Paulo. |

There is often live music at the weekends during the season so reservations are recommended. |

Take the road to Foia for about a kilometre and then take the first right. |

Besides the traditional mountain meal of Chicken Piri-Piri, the cuisine is distinctly local cuisine, generous portions and regional deserts, all of which attract many local businessmen at lunch time. Located just off the Portimao V6 road by taking the turning left at the roundabout with the Repsol Petrol Station on your right. The restaurant is about 600 metres ahead on the left. |

Opened in 1946 by its present owner Zeca Pinhota. It specializes in fish, shellfish and Portuguese specialties. Family run, this restaurant is a typical example of the excellent places that made the old Portimao so popular for eating. Located in a very narrow street under the old bridge of Portimao with some tables in the actual road. Parking is along the front of the river and the restaurant is normally very busy in season. |
