There were therefore far too many players on the course resulting in slow play and this resulted in the members behind us being rude and bad tempered towards us. Despite this we appreciated the magnificent scenery and wild flowers! |

Espiche Golf on Fri, 7th Feb 2025 Dry! Have played here many times and it is generally a tough challenge The course is now very dry for early February. Fairways and greens have brown patches and in my opinion the greens are cut too short. The course needs a lot of watering or rain to become playable again. |

Espiche Golf on Tue, 28th Jan 2025 Bällefresser Breite und insgesamt sehr lange Fairways mit viel Bewegung.man muss schon sehr strategisch spielen, sonst sind die Bälle weg..Fairways und Grüns sind sehr trocken, entsprechend springen die bälle. Der Platz gefällt mir, werde ihn sicher nochmal spielen, aber dann mit Cart und ohne Regen. |

Either make us all play as four, or leave more room in between flights. Still like the course, challenging, nice architecture. And, as always: the warm apple tarte at hole 19 ;) |

Espiche Golf on Fri, 15th Nov 2024 Interesting test of golf Classic Portugese coast up in the hills with fairways lined with trees and scrub. Very tight course and a tough challenge. But had great fun plotting our way round. Need to be accurate off the tee and hit quite a few long irons for position. Great test. Greens a little slow, but true. |

Palmares on Fri, 15th Nov 2024 Back to its best. I’d read loads of negative reviews about the condition of Palmares in the summer of 2024 because of the drought they had in the algarve, but a friend played recently and said it was getting back to its best so I booked it. It was the best course we played out of Vale De Lobo and Espiche, mainly due to the superb greens, which were quick and true. You can see a few bits of the course that still need to received slightly after the summer, but the new head green keeper seems to be doing a superb job and the course is back to its best. |

Palmares on Thu, 24th Oct 2024 The clubhouse is amazing, the course isn’t. Start with the only plus point, the clubhouse is amazing. The course however is far from the expectation when you see the Clubhouse. Patchwork Greens with variable speed. You could see where the different grass sections had been laid. Erratic speed and generally poorly maintained course that was built (squeezed) on the side of a hill. No marker posts on any of the (many) blind crests! Mind numbing slow play. Absolutely hated it. Could have left after 9 holes but kept going to see if it improved. It didn’t. Could not wait to leave. |

Palmares on Sun, 6th Oct 2024 Played on final day of golf trip. Had seen a lot of negative reviews about both course and staff but that was not our experience. Yes there are patches where fairway is brown but lies not affected. Greens were good but difficult to read. Some really good holes with great views of bay. Service at check in and in bar excellent. Some very steep climbs so would definitely get a buggy next time! |

Quite brutal if you miss the fairway (and sometimes brutal even if you do) and bring plenty of balls and for that reason I would say for good golfers only. Our group struggled and just too difficult for casual golfers. |

Palmares on Tue, 3rd Sep 2024 Lovely course but needs greenkeeping attention Second year we have played it and whereas other courses like Penina have improved after challenges with having enough water, Palmares is not in best condition with burnt fairways and patchy greens. It’s a beautiful course well laid out and challenging with great views, needs to be in much better condition to justify the green fees. |

Course was in excellent condition, greens in particular. A lot of run offs so even straight shots can run off the fairway. We played the whites to suit low handicappers but yellow would be good test. |

Be careful off the tee or you will lose balls especially on 10 and 18,run off areas lead to big trouble. Its a course you want to play again and again. 1st hole is the weakness but everything after that is superb. Amazing Clubhouse and food and bar all very good. Going again in September and November. Looking forward to it. |
