OConnor on Thu, 24th Oct 2024 So good we played it twice. Loved it. Beautiful flat course with plenty of challenges. Everything well maintained. Fortunately we had been booked into the O’Connor course for our 2nd trip here instead of the Faldo course. We were so happy as it is, according to our playing partners, much better than the Faldo course. |

OConnor on Wed, 23rd Oct 2024 Exciting and very playable The view from the terrace bar at Amendoeira promised much and we were not disappointed. The O'Connor course is a thrill ride from start to finish. There are water hazards everywhere (although most of them have little water in them), carefully placed to always catch you attention, and on most holes you have to hit over them. The fairways are very wide, you need to be very wayward to miss them but the challenge comes from the water around the green. It is exciting but you can certainly score well if you are playing well. The greens were excellent, true and fast, probably the quickest of the 4 courses we played on the trip. Some of the tees were a bit scruffy in places but the fairways were good. Around the cart paths and fringes of the course there is a lot of scrub land that doesn't look very well looked after but that's probably by design. The places you should be hitting from are all in good shape. The food in the clubhouse was good and the most affordable of all the places we visited. Service was very friendly and the bar stayed open long after darkness fell, which wasn't the case at all the places we visitied. |

OConnor on Tue, 22nd Oct 2024 Love this place Maybe the course is not looking as fantastic as years ago because of the last 2 dry summers but its still a wonderful course and green and fairways in great condition. Staff in golf areas very good, food service was very poor for such a fantastic place |

Faldo on Sat, 19th Oct 2024 Not good enough Nice clubhouse. The range was completely useless. We used 5,5 hours on our round due to an overcrowded course and It was dark when we reached 17th hole. So we only played 16 holes. Tee boxes were of pour quality, the carts slow and we had technical problems with them as well. Not sure we will play this course again I’m afraid. |

Faldo on Sun, 6th Oct 2024 Looking tired and in need of investment. Have been playing this course annually since inception. Sad therefore to see that it seems to be on the decline. No longer meet & greet in the car park. Carry your own clubs down to the buggy park where only 1 member of staff on duty , struggling to cope with the numbers for both courses. Buggies in need of replacement ( torn seats, no complimentary tees, no ice in the ice buckets and most frustrating of all, no GPS on the screens (obviously not paying for this service). Driving range - teeing ground in very poor condition and the balls in despite need of replacement. Cart paths - generally ok but not particularly well cared for (weeds growing through the cobbles) Tees - very difficult to find a flat lie on the tee. Sparse in grass but heavily sanded) Fairways…excellent Greens …excellent and a good pace with ball rolling true. Bunkers….very poor condition and a severe lack of rakes given the size of the bunkers, with some not even having one in them. Buggy bar service…very good Pace of play…least said..but 5hours 20 mins. Starter on 1st tee…..sat in his buggy the whole time, no interaction and basically left to our own devices. Overall, very enjoyable to play but be prepared and as Sid, a big reinvestment is long overdue. |

Faldo on Sun, 8th Sep 2024 Greens and fairways were immaculate. Bunkers were also good. Tee boxes were terrible and a few scabby areas around the course. You can tell it was an amazing course and complex when it first opened but it’s generally looking quite tired in a lot of places. That aside it’s definitely worth playing but doesn’t match up to the ‘Faldo’ expectations |

Faldo on Tue, 20th Aug 2024 Great course, mixed condition Played the Faldo numerous times before so I knew it was a great course and a really tough test from the White tees. Condition was pretty mixed to be honest. Some tee boxes were like second cut of rough when u put your tee into the ground it was barely above the grass and some of the teeing areas were tiny and extremely worn. Fairways were generally excellent. Bunkers were a real mixed bag, loads of rock hard ones with no chance of playing a proper bunker shot and then the odd one stacked full of powdery sand! Greens were decent, not overly fast but extremely pure and quite soft and spongy considering the fact it was 39 degrees whilst playing! |

OConnor on Thu, 15th Aug 2024 Poor This course itself is challenging and a good design. Unfortunately the surrounds pathways and other areas re very scruffy and in need of s maintenance. The paths are break8ng down with weeds growing through them. The practice green had unmount weeds growing through it also. Very dissapointing after a recommended ration to play. |

Faldo on Wed, 14th Aug 2024 Good course but can be so much better Pace of play was pathetic due to too many bookings squeezed into one hour. Tee times every 7 mins. Course is difficult and players need to choose correct tees. Only single figure handicap golfers should consider playing here. Back nine in particular is very tricky. Condition was good and greens very true and nice pace. Not enough staff to manage pace of play. Starter was excellent. Sadly the carts have a screen but no distances…… weird. On this course it would speed up play if players could see distances. |

Faldo on Tue, 13th Feb 2024 Faldo Fabulous The very challenging holes combined with more straight forward holes keep even the most average player like me energized, challenged and rewarded. Good pace of play. The overall course is on an enormous piece of land so there is also a lot of landscape architecture and hole design to take in. It’s a wow! |

Faldo on Wed, 18th Oct 2023 An incredibly challenging but enjoyable course This is possibly the most challenging course I've ever played on and it's the sort of place you need to play a few times to figure out how to play it. Having said that, it was very enjoyable. The only main downside is that the people ahead of us were really slow (looking for lost balls) and it took us just short of 6 hours to get round. Not a course for poor golfers!!!!! Buggie absolutely essential. |

Faldo on Wed, 4th Oct 2023 Great course A* Stunning but hilly course (faldo) that was a pleasure to play, you need a buggy. Wayward shots punished you, stray too far left or right and you are in trouble. As the guide says welcome to the beach. The staff are pleasant and helpful. Definitely would go back and play both Faldo and try O'Connor |

Faldo on Thu, 28th Sep 2023 I would play elsewhere! When we first played this course 6 years ago we were blown away with it, unfortunately after this year it will be the last time we do. The course is hideously overplayed now (along with the o’Connor) due to the all inclusive golf packages the resort offers. Tee boxes are a mess, greens aren’t hammered. The Dom Pedro and Vale De Lobo courses are definitely a much better option. Don’t bother with buffet breakfast here (price was made up on the spot - started at €30 and was reduced to €15 when we questioned). The plates are side plates (no joke) the bacon has bone in it and the sausages are little frankfurters! |
