Southern Golf (2001)
Our rates are for two rounds on the 9 hole Balaia Golf Course. Opened in April 2001 this small and attractive golf course offers the opportunity to improve your iron shots and your short game. It carries the title of Executive Course which in its name implies the quality of its layout and subtle challenges. Located at the back of the Balaia Village Holiday Complex it presents from the first tee a charming view of most of the course with the ribbon of blue sea as its background. A course to test the ability of a golfer to control shot length and direction.
Balaia's statistics are generated from Algarve Golf's databases. (*) Discount based on Balaia's 18 hole green fee rack rate.

We played Balaia course, 27 holes. Arranged THRU Algarve golf, very helpful. Greens are fast, a little confusing to know which hole to shoot at, as holes cross over each other. Had a great lunch after, recommend the club SANDWICH! Club rentals were good quality. Range in good shape, good practise green.

Ever since the Balaia nine-hole par-3 course near Albufeira opened in 2001 they have held regular tournaments. Thanks this year to the generosity of Graeme and Christine Mitchell from Scotland a new permanent annual Cup has been presented to Balaia. For those unfamiliar with the Scottish word 'quaich', this is a wide, silver 'cup of kindness' traditionally filled with whisky and passed round from one person to another. There were 62 players in the tournament played on an aggregate stroke-play pairs format, and the two-some of J. M. Rodrigues and Joao Figueiredo won with a net score of 55 strokes (1 over par).
