Quinta do Lago South Description

The 18 hole championship Quinta do Lago South Golf Course located within the luxury estate of Quinta do Lago and was redesigned in 2014. The original course was used several times for the Portuguese Open. The course favours the long hitter, but requires the player to pick a particular route to score well. Although both anti-clockwise loops, the first nine suggests a draw, whilst the second favours a fade from the tee.

Holes 3, 15 and 17, feature lakes that must be negotiated. Holes 8, 10, 15 and 18, are the most testing for the scratch player while Holes 2,3,5,12, 13 and 17, offer the best possibilities of birdies. An enjoyable game experience for players of all standards.

Exceptional property, course and service. Would love to come back and play again.

A good course. Not 5* due to the QdL love for extracting as much money as possible from people, but this is separate to the golf course itself. It's not as wide open as Laranjal, but not as tight as QdL North either. Lots of different types of hole with a good variety of terrain (not an easy course to walk, suggest a buggy!) with lovely true greens and interesting contours. Some lovely water feature holes later on too.

Very, very nearly my personal favourite course in the Vilamoura area. Incredible condition and worth every Euro. A joy to play here, and probably just shaded as favourite by The Old, most likely because I played a bit better at The Old. But it’s a must on any future trips. Loved it.

Really well kept
