Pinhal Description

Pinhal Golf Course is situated in Vilamoura as a sister to the other four golf courses. It is laid out through the pine tree forest and is set back from the tourist beach area. The outward nine holes wander through the holiday villas that line the fairways. The well positioned bunkers make the course very enjoyable for the players, testing their choice of clubs and their accuracy. The Par 4 on the fourth hole is difficult to achieve with water waiting for the erring shot. The Par 3 on the eighth of 149 metres is also trickier than it first appears. The back nine-holes have a more open feel but the slightly altered fifteenth will cause a problem to meet the Par 4 it requires.

Played on a Sunday and it was busy but well spaced. Condition of course and greens was good and the work on the new buggy paths will smarten and protect the course when completed. The range is in a great position in front of the terrace and the practive facilities in general are good. The course itself is fair and has a number of strong strategic holes. The tees were well worn but OK.
First time to play at Pinhal course

We played 18 holes first time at Pinhal. The course layout is well designed in my opinion, and staff were kind. Buggy also has a GPS, which we find the other Vilamoura courses-Vila Sol and Laguna- don't have. The course condition is o.k. to play though ongoing repair/construction of cart path at the time and a number of locations where you need to cross neighborhood street and watch cars were distracting. The new cart path under construction also has a high concrete border blocks, which limits you to get in and out of cart path a bit inconvenient.

Great parkland course. Was in great shape. Lovely crisp fairways. Really enjoyed. Much better than Millenium and Laguna which we have played previously
