Alto Golf Description

The Alto Golf Course is a 18 hole course located close to the fishing village of Alvor near to Portimao. This course is situated close enough to the ocean to give the player an occasional sea view. A simple par 3 opens your round but it is deceiving to what is in store. The Alto Golf Course is considered a good test of the ability of the player with strategic bunkers, dog-legs, elevated greens and well placed trees. A further noteworthy challenge is the par 5 on the sixteenth that is considered to be one of the longest holes in Europe.

Our group of mixed abilities all really enjoyed Alto. A very fair golf course in excellent condition. When we played they'd ran out of buggies but a very enjoyable and easy course to walk. Recommended and a special mention to the very helpful and friendly staff.

Our group all really enjoyed Alto regardless of ability. Very nice course, quite forgiving and in excellent condition. When we played they'd ran out of buggies but a nice course to walk if you're used to it. Will definitely play again and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Recommended.
