Alto Golf Description

The Alto Golf Course is a 18 hole course located close to the fishing village of Alvor near to Portimao. This course is situated close enough to the ocean to give the player an occasional sea view. A simple par 3 opens your round but it is deceiving to what is in store. The Alto Golf Course is considered a good test of the ability of the player with strategic bunkers, dog-legs, elevated greens and well placed trees. A further noteworthy challenge is the par 5 on the sixteenth that is considered to be one of the longest holes in Europe.

What a lovely course. Tight and undulating with many folds on the fairways and elevated greens. Bit slow in February but what do you expect. Nice clubhouse and facilities with driving range. Well worth a visit.

Great course with nice green trees, fairways and greens. Good maintenance of all the holes. Although Alto is not a difficult course we really enjoyed playing there.
