East Algarve Golf Trophy 2020
Fri, 2nd Aug 2019 From the 8th to the 15th of February the 'East Algarve Golf Trophy 2020' will be held with five rounds over the participating courses; Monte Rei, Castro Marim, Quinta da Ria, Quinta do Vale and Benamor. The entry fee from € 780.00 includes accommodation for seven nights in the Vila Gale Hotel in Tavira, the tournament plus selected extras. |
Algarve Sun & Sea Golf Cup 2019
Fri, 2nd Aug 2019 From the 23rd to the 30th of November their will be a 'Algarve Sun & Sea Golf Cup 2019' to be played on five courses on the eastern side of the Algarve. These course are Monte Rei, Benamor, Quinta do Vale, Quinta da Ria, and Castro Marim. The package with accommodation and extras will cost € 817.00 per golfer. |

Monte Rei Charity Golf Tournament Fri, 14th Sep 2018 The Rotary Club Estoi Palace International held a Charity Tournament attracting some 80 local and visiting golfers. The event raised over € 10,000.00 for some needy local charities. |

Monte Rei Charity Event Sat, 10th Sep 2016 The Rotary Club of Estoi held a charity tournament followed by a dinner at the Monte Rei Golf and Country Club. A total of sixty-six golfers participated and around € 6,000 was successfully raised for local charities. |

Castro Marim Golf Tiago Cruz and Joao Ramos Fri, 18th Mar 2016 Algarve Pro Castro Marim Classic - Castro Marim Course - 12th and 13th of March. The combined strokes over the two day competition ended with the lead tied between the two Portuguese players, Tiago Cruz and Joao Ramos. In second place were also tied Welsh player Rhys Pugh. and Craig Hinton from England, two strokes behind the leaders. |

Monte Rei Sat, 1st Aug 2015 Over 80 golfers participated in the Monte Rei Course Charity Tournament on the 28th of August raising over € 7.000. The winner was Hassan Dahabiyeh with Jacques Bonneval second. |

Quinta do Vale Wed, 1st Oct 2008 The Quinta do Vale course is being officially opened on 12th October and the designer, Seve Ballesteros the course architect will attend the festivities which include a Pro-Am on the day. Golfers will have the opportunity to play a competition on this course on Saturday the 11th with the main winners gaining invitations to enter the Pro-Am the following day. |

Quinta do Vale Mon, 1st Sep 2008 The new Seve-designed Quinta do Vale course held a series of summer competitions and was also the venue of a Portuguese PGA tournament sponsored by the Halcon Travel Agency. Antonio Sobrinho was well ahead and even with a poor 4th round of 77 won with a 2-under-par score of 286, four clear of Hugo Santos who has occasionally played on the PGA European EuroPro and Challenge Tours with his brother Ricardo and fellow golfer Tiago Cruz.Antonio Sobrinho established a course record of 67 strokes in his second round. |

Castro Marim Golf Fri, 1st Feb 2008 The popular golf course manager, Antonio Cavaco, has moved from the Quinta da Ria and has taken up the position of Golf Director at the established Castro Marim Course in the eastern Algarve. |

Quinta do Vale Sat, 1st Sep 2007 The Seve Ballesteros designed Quinta do Vale course near Castro Marim in the extreme east of the Algarve alongside the Guadiana River separating the Algarve and Andalusia is due to be ready for play in the next few months. Over-seeding with cool season grass on the Bermuda fairways has been carried out recently. Similar to the course opened in 2004 on Porto Santo Island that Seve also designed, Quinta do Vale has an equal number of six par-3, par-4 and par-5 holes. |

Monte Rei Wed, 1st Aug 2007 The 'soft' opening of the magnificent Jack Nicklaus layout at Monte Rei, near Vila Nova de Cacela has taken place. Having personally been at the site during one of Nicklaus's original visits in July, 1990, I was anxious to drive over and see the final masterpiece for myself as reports and photos published are really impressive. A special 'twilight' green-fee, including a shared buggy and complimentary use of the practice facilities, are on offer until the end of this August. |

Monte Rei Sun, 1st Jul 2007 The fabulous North course at the Monte Rei Golf & Country Club has now been opened for pre-view play. It is the first of two intended Jack Nicklaus designed 'signature' courses on this complex located in eastern Algarve, and laid out over attractive rolling countryside in the hinterland. They are situated between the main A22 highway and the mountain range farther north. The official opening, it is now expected to take place in September and next year construction will possibly commence on the second course scheduled for opening in 2009. |

Monte Rei Wed, 1st Sep 2004 Another course under construction and due for completion in the Spring of 2006 is the long-awaited Jack Nicklaus designed layout at the future Monte Rei Golf & Country Club. This the first of two 18-hole courses planned for a 420-hectare area located about half an hour drive to the east of Faro. A mere 8% of the project will be built-up area incorporating an exclusive village community and one of the top American landscape architects is involved with the planning of the entire site. The architect of the second course is Ross McMurray of European Golf Design. |
