Great Course Spoiled By Pace of Play
I was excited to play this course as I heard many good things. Things started badly as start time was delayed by 15 minutes. It only got worse as the round commenced. Five and a half hours later we were done. Never have I played a round that long. It seemed there was some junior tournament playing out in front of us. And they all walked the course carrying their clubs. Now this course is quite hilly with many holes having long walks to the next tee. We used power carts and that should be the norm. We waited on every shot on every hole. So a very challenging course with some great scenery led to frustrated waiting. Only fortunate thing was we finished before sundown although we lost two players at the turn. Would I play it again? Only if I was guaranteed a maximum 4 and a half hour round.

Love this place
Maybe the course is not looking as fantastic as years ago because of the last 2 dry summers but its still a wonderful course and green and fairways in great condition. Staff in golf areas very good, food service was very poor for such a fantastic place

Good course but can be so much better
Pace of play was pathetic due to too many bookings squeezed into one hour. Tee times every 7 mins.
Course is difficult and players need to choose correct tees. Only single figure handicap golfers should consider playing here. Back nine in particular is very tricky.
Condition was good and greens very true and nice pace.
Not enough staff to manage pace of play. Starter was excellent.
Sadly the carts have a screen but no distances…… weird. On this course it would speed up play if players could see distances.

Faldo has lost it’s magic
Poor quality tee boxes, uneven and very (too) sandy. Greens were good, quality of bunkers very poor. General upkeep not good compared with numerous previous visits. Staff in particular were not friendly or welcoming.

Faldo Fabulous
The very challenging holes combined with more straight forward holes keep even the most average player like me energized, challenged and rewarded. Good pace of play. The overall course is on an enormous piece of land so there is also a lot of landscape architecture and hole design to take in. It’s a wow!
