Faldo on Sat, 6th Apr 2024 Faldo golf course The bag drop service was non existent. Getting checked in was painfully slow. No starters and little direction given to us. |

Faldo on Tue, 13th Feb 2024 Faldo Fabulous The very challenging holes combined with more straight forward holes keep even the most average player like me energized, challenged and rewarded. Good pace of play. The overall course is on an enormous piece of land so there is also a lot of landscape architecture and hole design to take in. It’s a wow! |

Faldo on Wed, 18th Oct 2023 An incredibly challenging but enjoyable course This is possibly the most challenging course I've ever played on and it's the sort of place you need to play a few times to figure out how to play it. Having said that, it was very enjoyable. The only main downside is that the people ahead of us were really slow (looking for lost balls) and it took us just short of 6 hours to get round. Not a course for poor golfers!!!!! Buggie absolutely essential. |

Faldo on Wed, 4th Oct 2023 Great course A* Stunning but hilly course (faldo) that was a pleasure to play, you need a buggy. Wayward shots punished you, stray too far left or right and you are in trouble. As the guide says welcome to the beach. The staff are pleasant and helpful. Definitely would go back and play both Faldo and try O'Connor |

Faldo on Sun, 1st Oct 2023 Faldo course review I found the course unnecessarily tough and very hilly. Unfortunately not one that I’ll be playing again |

Faldo on Thu, 28th Sep 2023 I would play elsewhere! When we first played this course 6 years ago we were blown away with it, unfortunately after this year it will be the last time we do. The course is hideously overplayed now (along with the o’Connor) due to the all inclusive golf packages the resort offers. Tee boxes are a mess, greens aren’t hammered. The Dom Pedro and Vale De Lobo courses are definitely a much better option. Don’t bother with buffet breakfast here (price was made up on the spot - started at €30 and was reduced to €15 when we questioned). The plates are side plates (no joke) the bacon has bone in it and the sausages are little frankfurters! |

Faldo on Tue, 19th Sep 2023 Faldo Course Great layout, very challenging, but unfortunately a lot of the surrounding area (off the fairway) were in poor condition. As were the bunkers and tee boxes. Such a shame that there’s a lack of maintenance on a great track. Fairways and Greens were fairly good. |

Faldo on Sat, 22nd Jul 2023 Nice course, grumpy staff I play Faldo regularly as I have a place nearby. The course is good, challenging and well kept. Some of the tee boxes are tired and overused, but that's acceptable at this time of year after a busy season. My main issue with Amendoeira in general is how unwelcoming the staff seem. The receptionists are always moody and yesterday even our buggie guy reflected the same mood as the miserable receptionist. It's like these people don't want you to visit! Amendoeira's management need to consider some training and maybe send their staff to Vale do Lobo (or even their sister course at Palmares) to see how customers should be treated. I won't return to Amendoeira this summer, as I'd rather pay a little extra and enjoy the overall experience and treatment. Shame as the course is fun. |

Faldo on Wed, 19th Jul 2023 Never again Very poor shape, I guess several years s go, it has been a must? Today…nit. Very dangerous car paths, lots of waste in many bushes, tons of bunkers without sand/hardly playable. Greens aerified lately, tee boxes - gras way to long. At the End non golfers on the course, trying to drive their carts by the green. Service in Restaurant Bad, food(Burger) from the fridge, no sauce… We‘ll never come back |

Faldo on Wed, 5th Jul 2023 Good summer special deal Challenging and well maintained course, we thought the summer special price was very good value. Rental clubs were high quality and in great condition. Only downside was the slow reception staff, it took 20 mins to check us in despite us having a confirmed & prepaid booking. It meant we didn’t have time for any warm up on the range and putting green which was annoying. |

Faldo on Sat, 1st Jul 2023 Excellent Faldo Unlike some others on the Algarve, Faldo was in excellent condition. Very enjoyable. Only negative the buggy paths have to be treated with care! |

Faldo on Sun, 28th May 2023 Challenging but enjoyable. A tough challenge and definitely a course that makes you think. Course was in great condition too. We had a twilight package (15.30pm) and pretty much had the course to ourselves. Very enjoyable though. |

Faldo on Sat, 15th Apr 2023 Faldo unacceptably slow. 3 hours for the first 9 holes. We called the marshals when there were 5 x 4 balls waiting on the 4th tee after 1 and a half hours. This is totally unacceptable. The marshals should be on the course constantly . Without having to be asked. We have played the Faldo every year since it opened, sadly we will not return until they sort themselves out. |

Faldo on Sat, 4th Feb 2023 Twilight golf. Exhausting Welcome and staff great. Course. Challenging to say the least.. poor condition due to dry weather and lack of watering due to risk of frost apparently. Fairways brown and worn but lots of run. Greens excellent still and are clearly being irrigated so don’t think frost argument can be true. So for the current price felt overcharged. I enjoyed the challenge as an 11 handicapper but my wife at 32 handicap hated it as did other higher handicappers. 5 hour round is the norm due to challenge and huge walks between tees. . Played 16 holes with 1.20 tee time |

OConnor on Thu, 2nd Feb 2023 Good enjoyable experience if a big overpriced. Course is a lot more playable than Faldo. O’Connor was very much a more enjoyable experience and while we had a buggy, it is certainly walkable. Greens, fairways were all in great order. Paths were in better order on this than the Faldo. My one gripe would be that for a quality setting the course should have a Pin Placement Notice for the day. This should be on the first tee, with corresponding pin locations on the scorecard. E.g. A, B, C, D or E for example. It’s just when playing to the green, we had no idea what oar5 of the green the Pin was cut. I’ve played O’Conner designed courses before in Ireland and feel this is overpriced compared to his Ireland courses which are every bit as good. |

Faldo on Wed, 1st Feb 2023 Tough strategic layout Great layout, but very tough. Some long par 4s, and so many raised greens, very tricky. Fairways were great and greens were as well. Difficult judging pace particularly if you’re above the hole. Strategy is key. If you can’t reach green in regulation, you need to pick a good spot to get up and down. Think I need a word with Nick! |

Faldo on Thu, 19th Jan 2023 Faldo course played January 23. You have to be long and reasonably straight as this is a bit of a brute of a course! Some tees a bit dodgy but otherwise the course is well kept, greens firm and fair but not straightforward! Unless you're an Olympian take the buggy on offer as this is a long walk between tees as well as a long course. |
