San Lorenzo on Sat, 18th May 2024 It's like they've given up The staff was lovely and friendly but the course should be priced half of what it is for the condition it's in and the amenities it lacks. I appreciate that their clubhouse burned down, but it's not just that. The back nine fairways are dry and not in great shape. The greens are okay but slow. For the price maybe take a pass. |

Quinta do Lago South on Thu, 16th May 2024 Up and down golf course with a few blind shots. The greens were spike so we’re not that fast and did hold the line. |

San Lorenzo on Sun, 21st Apr 2024 Fat Pete Fantastic course - tight fairways and landing zones but rating reflects the disappointing sand in the bunkers - not pure sand but littered with stones |

Laranjal on Sat, 6th Apr 2024 Laranjal course Excellent service airbag drop, pro shop and starter. The course a good test of golf. Unfortunately, we had to play cart paths only which made it a tough walk. |

San Lorenzo on Mon, 25th Mar 2024 Classic and always a magnificent golf course The location of the course, its design and great difficulty make it exciting to play. The disadvantage that the clubhouse is not available, it takes away some of its services to the player. The buggy paths are not very well maintained. And the buggies have very old technology. |

Quinta do Lago South on Mon, 25th Mar 2024 Superb golf course The course is very well maintained, the design of the course is superb, the location is unbeatable. The buggies are top class, with GPS and in very good condition. If I had to say something that could be improved, I would say that the pro shop was not up to the standard of the course and some areas of the course were under repair, which made it difficult to play. |

Quinta do Lago North on Mon, 25th Mar 2024 Definitely Worth It What a great course, the set up at Quinta is first class. We’ve played Quinta North a few times, always thoroughly enjoyable, although pace of play can be slow, and the course Marshall rarely seems to take action. |

San Lorenzo on Sat, 23rd Mar 2024 Disappointing Great course design but has left to deteriorate by the current owners. No clubhouse due to fire. Although iconic (especially the front 9), it really was not worth the green fee. The tee boxes are in very poor condition, and the cart paths are pretty much not fit for purpose. |

Pinheiros Altos on Wed, 6th Mar 2024 Played there Feb 23 & 29, Mar 1 & 6: Layout on all 3 courses is a bit boring, maintenance is ok, not as good as at the QDL/VDL courses. Lots of unrepaired pitchmarks, uneven cart path‘s. buggies too expensive, same as on QDL/VDL, but no GPS and some with old batteries, barely lasting 18 holes. Mats on the range hard as stone! Accomodation Look like from the 70th. Some Investments needed. Since Long time Unfinished condos along left side of Pines 8 & 9 giving a horrific scene, apparently belonging to the owner of the course as well as San Lorenzo. Improvements urgent |

Quinta do Lago South on Mon, 12th Feb 2024 Top quality course Superb course, what you’d expect from a course with this reputation. Staff were great. We booked an early start but at hole 9 the rain was so bad we had to give up but the course staff simply booked us to play the back 9 2 days later. As all the locals told us it would - the next day was roasting hot and all the puddles were gone. Not bad for early February! |

Laranjal on Mon, 12th Feb 2024 Wow what an amazing course Excellent course. Played in Feb and it wasn’t too busy. Relatively new to golf so some of the holes were a challenge but not enough to ruin the day. Would definitely suggest a golf visit to Algarve includes this course. Sure beats contending with boggy courses and howling wind in Lancashire! |

Pinheiros Altos on Wed, 24th Jan 2024 The course condition - we played Pines and Corks - is better than a year ago (apart from a few GUR), but still doesn't come close to the two Vale do Lobo and the three Quinta do Lago courses. Pinheiros Altos is the frontrunner in terms of buggy prices only: €55 for a buggy without GPS is an outrage in view of the buggy prices at VdL (€50, incl. GPS) and QdL (€45, incl. GPS). |

Pinheiros Altos on Wed, 27th Dec 2023 So disappointing. Played Corks & Olives - Corks really is a very disappointing 9, with only a couple of good holes (8&9). Condition of the course was, generally, not great. Cart paths very uneven (good luck if you have a back problem!), but it was the greens that were so poor, they looked like a teenager with particularly bad acne! Either from pitch marks (unrepaired) or, more significantly extensive fungal disease made the greens, already slow, impossible to roll the ball on. Club facilities seem sadly right out of the 80’s - significant £investment is badly needed. Not able to recommend I’m afraid, especially for £100 a round each (including buggy)! |

Laranjal on Thu, 16th Nov 2023 Beware the 18th! Interesting course always in tip-top condition. Not too hilly so could be walked comfortably and the playing time was around 4hrs 30, started a little slowly but sped up around the turn. Greens very good. The 18th has to be one of the best finishing holes in the area, risk and reward at its best! |

Quinta do Lago South on Fri, 10th Nov 2023 Very good condition although a challenging course. Buggies too expensive, €55, when you consider they can't go near the greens. We only used one on the first day, from then onwards we hired electric trolleys at €45 for five rounds from Blue Sky Golf November 2023 |

Laranjal on Fri, 10th Nov 2023 Buggy Very early start made the start a bit tricky but very smooth. Golf course in good condition. No problem with pace of play as we were out early. One gripe with a buggy was that the two notices on divots etc came up incessantly on the screen and had to be acknowledged each time. Very annoying. |

San Lorenzo on Wed, 8th Nov 2023 Nice course but beware of sandflies and very long No clubhouse. Nice course, but the sandflies would eat you alive. No marshalling on the course, which resulted in a 5 hr 10 min round. Had to wait to hit every shot. |

Quinta do Lago North on Fri, 20th Oct 2023 A great course to play. As usual at this time of the year it was busy. The first few holes were really slow but after the 4th the groups spread out and we got round in just over 4 hours which for this course in pretty good. The course was in great condition with some challenging holes. |

San Lorenzo on Fri, 20th Oct 2023 A great location but the course is declining each year. It needs some TLC and investment soon. You have to start questioning if the green fee is actually worth it. Yes there are some great signature holes but the rest need work. Not their fault but as there is no club house due to the fire surely this should also be taken into consideration in the green fees. |

San Lorenzo on Wed, 18th Oct 2023 Stunning course but needs a little TLC I was tempted to mark the course down to a 3 but it is still undoubtedly located in a wonderfully unique location, skirting the Ria Formosa, so it’s a 4 presently (for me). The course just needs a little TLC and it’s not too late, providing the owners invest quickly, to raise the standards a little to protect its heritage and reputation. I played the course 15-20 years ago when it was one of the best courses in Europe. |

Laranjal on Mon, 16th Oct 2023 One of the best in central Algarve Wonderful course for the competent golfer. You can see exactly where you should hit each shot and get rewarded when you manage to. Great condition, beautifully manicured and nice speedy greens. Great practice area if slightly away from the course itself. Buggy recommended/ |

Pinheiros Altos on Sat, 14th Oct 2023 Good layout and overall good w/some dry fairways. Good layout, a few blind shots but had gps and yardage meter so was fine. Long course from whites but really enjoyed the challenge. Greens were in good condition. Played in threesome and pace was excellent (teed off at 7:36 and finished at 11:20.). Fairway had some bare spots but not Terrible as I have read in other reviews. Make agreement with others to move ball in fairways a foot or two even if not marked as ground under. Thinking the drought in region may further affect fairways and should bring price down a bit but for this time at peak October season it was decent and on par with course and conditions. (Understand the having a drought but if can’t water then prices should reflect.) I played cork nine and olives Nine. Cork is in good shape much better than olive. Overall good and would recommend. |

San Lorenzo on Sun, 8th Oct 2023 Very disappointing - going downhill rapidly Difficult to know where to start…..have played this course several times over the last 15 years. In June the aged clubhouse burnt down and therefore off course facilities are non existent. Check in is a portakabin in the car park which also contained a fridge for drinks. There previous supply of buggies were destroyed in the fire but the replacement are clearly very old and have been begged & borrowed from anywhere and everywhere. The biggest disappointment of all however is the way the condition of this course has been allowed to decline year on year to the point now where despite the excellent location and course layout, I will never return or recommend anyone to play until serious investment to turn things around. The buggiy paths are dangerous - very uneven due to tree roots and numerous areas where the paving blocks are missing. A bridge over a road which was destroyed by fire 2 years ago has not been replaced. Bunkers unkept & poor quality of grasses on the fairways making taking your club away on the backswing very difficult. Finally, the greens are just awful - see attached picture. All the above is even more surprising given that the course is surrounded but some of the most expensive properties in the Algarve. |

Laranjal on Sun, 8th Oct 2023 Excellent course but pace of play an issue Course in very good condition with greens running true & fast. Since my last visit of a few years ago they have switched the routing of the course with the back 9 now becoming the front 9 and vice versa. This new routing definitely flows a lot better but unfortunately the round still took 5hrs 15 mins - this is unacceptable. A Marshall did appear midway though out back 9 but should have been on the case a lot sooner. Overall though, great facilities, nice to see the frequent visits by the buggy bar, especially in the hot weather. |

San Lorenzo on Sat, 7th Oct 2023 Stunning course with breathtaking views Superb golf course with some absolutely breathtaking views, only downside a conspicuous lack of infrastructure spending leaving the pathways very rough bridge not in use & the obvious lack of a club house at the moment with the place being run out of a portacabin after the fire at the start of the year. |
