Felt like a golf club. Very interesting holes and generally in very good order

How to spoil a great golf course ! I played here initially in 1981 and have played a few times since - before the Corporate boys turned it into a resort. If I’d paid a few million for an adjoining property which included membership, I would be fuming. The course was in a dreadful state - especially the Praia 9 holes ( which were my favourite in the whole of the Algarve ). Club house staff were awful too. There was absolutely no-one in the bar areas at all ( not surprising ) and we were put in our place when we sat outside in an area reserved for “ fine diners “ ! What a joke of a place this is - and it makes me very sad to say so !

Lovely course with tight fairways - and looked after properly which seems to be the Pestana way. A proper members club and all staff were friendly and very helpful
