My friend from Texas was visiting us during our week at Quinta do Lago and we picked PA to play first. Unfortunately it was not a great experience. The course was in decent enough shape and the weather perfect. However, a rude and over-zealous Marshall called Jose tried his best to ruin the round. He stopped us at the fifth to say that we had to hurry up and came back to the sixth tee to deliver the same message. He was also picking on other guests at the 10th. At no stage were the four balls behind us ever on the tee before we had finished putting out. By the eighth hole we were waiting for the two ball in front to put out, so the Marshall’s comments were totally unjustified. We finished the round in four hours. Having paid €400 for three golfers and buggies, I won’t be returning to this course again. Shame as we have been coming for 15 years and never had this issue before. Quinta do Lago South was, however, a real treat !
