Mon, 1st Sep 2008 An amateur 'Nations Cup' (Taca das Nacoes) is being staged at Vale do Lobo from the 17th to 21st. Organised by the Portuguese Golf Federation, this follows on from last year's inaugural event and is part of the government tourist sponsorship programme called 'Allgarve'. It will involve 14 national teams of three players and each with a captain. It is intended as a European warm-up event for World Amateur Team Championships being held in Adelaide, Australia, in October. |

Thu, 1st May 2008 The popular Vale do Lobo Foursomes Week, now in its 26th year, takes place from 18th-24th May at the resort's Ocean and Royal courses. After initial qualifying rounds the tournament switches to the match-play format to decide the winners. |

Wed, 1st Aug 2007 An amateur team event, the 'Nations Cup Portugal', organised by the Portuguese tourist board and the Portuguese Golf Federation, will be held at Vale do Lobo from 29th August to 2nd September, and a good field of players is expected from several countries. |

Sat, 1st Oct 2005 Vale do Lobo staged a 3-day 'Millionaires Open' in early September in conjunction with Dutch lifestyle magazine. A total of 140 players, including football manager Louis van Gaal, took part in the event involving a 2-day individual Stableford tournament over the Royal and Ocean courses. Other golf events at this resort during the month were the 'Lady Taverner's Charity Tournament', and the grand final of the Pro-Am 'Lombard Trophy'. |

Tue, 1st Jun 2004 The 'Wolf Valley Charity Competition' is being held at Vale do Lobo on 20th June to raise funds for the Almancil Community Centre and the Sao Joao da Venda primary school. Rugby player Jason Leonard, and footballers Luis Figo and David Beckham have donated autographed items for auction at a fund-raising gala dinner following a golf tournament. Other items autographed by Pros attached to Vale do Lobo, Brian Davis, Jarmo Sandelin and Antonio Sobrinho will also be on sale. There will be tombola prizes and a trick golf demonstration by Steve Walker and a putting competition. Last year a similar event raised about 68,000 Euros for good causes. |

Sun, 1st Feb 2004 Vale do Lobo have signed up the PGA European Tour player Brian Davis as a member of their stable of touring professionals for a period of five years. Placed 9th in the 2003 Volvo Order of Merit, Brian had an excellent year with twelve Top 10 finishes. He joins Sweden's Jarmo Sandelin and Antonio Sobrinho (Portugal's leading golf pro) on the team of touring professionals at this well-known Algarve resort. Vale do Lobo also recently granted the use of premises to house the Portuguese Golf Federation's new regional office. The Federation President, Sr. Manuel Agrellos, who attended the opening ceremony, is also the current President of the European Golf Association, and a member of the R&A. |

Thu, 1st May 2003 On the 10th of August Vale do Lobo celebrated their 40th Anniversary with a magnificent party after an Invitation Team Event during the day. The winners were the team composed of Chris Parker, Ian Digby, Sally and Brian Evans. The evening party was joined by the tennis players Yannick Noah, Henri Leconte, Emílio Sanchez, and Carl Uwe-Steeb who had during the same week been involved in the 'Vale do Lobo Tennis Masters Competition'. |
